Led by Frans Vogels, World Champion Living Statues 2017

Mime is a non-verbal storytelling tradition which is a beautiful artform in its pure form but can also be applied to other physical theatre practices.

Frans incorporates mime into his living statues as he believes living statues should always have a strong theatrical premise to come to life and something to 'say' when they do.

In this fun 'taster' workshop you will learn some basic mime 'vocabulary' and physical storytelling techniques, and how these skills can apply to the art of living statues. A brief history, the different types of living statues and 'what makes a good living statue' will be included.

This introductory workshop will also be a prerequisite for a 4 week Living Statue for Emerging Performers course in March (by application & free for selected participants).
