Ever wanted to join the circus? Now is your chance! Try your hand at juggling, hula hoops, partner acro-balance, a touch of aerials and more. A fun class suitable for absolute beginners and up. 

Our classes are challenge by choice and this class is for all skill and fitness levels. Don't be scared! You might find something you love.

You will learn

  • Students can try a mix of circus skills and games with an experienced trainer

You will get

  • After this class you can either do Circus Essentials, Circus Fit, Handstands and Active Stretch. Please do Flying Start Aerials if you wish to join General Aerials.

This class is open to individuals who want to try circus who identify as women, trans, and non-binary genders.

What to bring

  • Water bottle

What to wear

comfortable clothing with no outside zips or jewellery. Be ready to go upside down. Longer pants or tights are good.

Here at Vulcana Women’s Circus, we run workshops for adults and kids and teens, and we develop community projects with all kinds of different communities, the focus always being on creativity and empowerment through circus. You can book us for gigs, workshops or hire our space at the Stores Studio, Brisbane Powerhouse.

Vulcana’s circus workshop and performance projects engage a broad range of community participants and work in partnership with arts and community organisations to create opportunities for cultural expression and community development. In a safe, playful space we encourage participants to be themselves with joy and push the boundaries of what is achievable as one or in a group.

That was a very beautiful class. We had a taste of the circus which was very fun and we did it in a respectful, serious and kind environment that encouraged us to explore and enjoy. Very recommendable, go yourself or with your friends, it doesn't matter!

The ‘come and try’ was a great evening learning circus skills from juggling, tumbling, trapeze to hula hooping and more! Great value and an amazing teacher. Olivia was so supportive and funny and made even the scary things like tumbling and cartwheels fun and accessible.

Cancellations & Refunds

If the organiser cancels the class:

You are entitled to a full refund.

If you can't attend the class:

  • A transfer can be requested anytime before the class starts. Free of charge.
  • A credit note can be requested 2 days before the class starts. An admin fee of AU$20.00 applies.

No changes will be allowed after these times.
